In October, we were thrilled to welcome would-be-brass players of all ages to our ‘Learn to Play’ events, under the umbrella of Music for All’s national initiative to get people into music, or back to music if they’ve played before and had a few years or decades off! New Mills Band featured in the Buxton Advertiser recently promoting our involvement in Music For All's Learn to Play '25. We are offering free 20 minute lessons to beginners, near-beginners, and people returning to playing brass. On 3 July our Junior Band and Junior Academy groups both treated us to performance to celebrate the end of the 2024/25 academic year. On Thursday night our Junior Band and Junior Academy treated us to a wonderful Christmas performance at St George's Parish Hall. They have all worked so hard to get ready for the show and did so well on the night. Well done everybody - have a good Christmas and see you all in 2025! We had a fantastic National Brass Band Week, with an Open Evening at St George's Parish Church, and a stall at the One World Festival.  We also took part in Proms in the Playground with visits to both New Mills Primary School and Newtown Primary School where we put on performances, and lots of children tried instruments!
